I saw your post on another forum - I drooled then and these are causing it to happen again!  To steal a line used before, I must be level headed because drool is coming out of both corners of my mouth...  Thanks for sharing them here.

I’ve been collecting for about twenty years and have actually thinned a little in the last couple.
My focus is more on pre 1898 and black powder cartridge rifles now. 
In fact I think only three of the rifles pictured are post 1898.

Love that Swinburn.  Would you mind posting a closeup of the action engraving and the barrel/action join?

This Swinburn has a much more glossy finish to the action than most British guns.  Totally original though I think.

Very nice.  I would love to have one good example of a British single shot sporting rifle.  It’s been on my list for awhile without success yet.  I blame Ross Seyfried for many of my bucket list items.

Anybody know how to resize my photos?  For some reason they are coming up too big.

Yes, a real shame although I think it happened early in the life of the rifle and that is why the metal is in such excellent condition.
It was poorly screwed back together with wood screws and brass plates but I doubt anybody tried to shoot it with that repair.
As it is, it really needs a restock as a repair that will work is doubtful.

I can say, though, the H&H Woodward is just an incredible rifle well worth restocking but only if done to exacting standards.  If there was any aspect not done properly I don’t know if I could stomach it.

Thats a very nice group of British single shots. A shame about your H & H.
Years ago there was a gentleman in this neck of the woods named Austin Moorcroft who had an extensive collection of British single shots that first sparked my interest in those rifles. He and his rifles are long gone. Some of his rifles are pictured in reference books on British single shots.

I too would highly recommend Dennis "The Stock Doctor." He has fixed two stocks for me, one was broken just like yours; through the wrist and through checkering. He fixed it perfectly and I have actually shot the rifle at matches with no problems. You cannot tell at all that the stock was broken in half through the checkered grip. Amazing work and he could properly fix yours.
