Using a Sinclair 6-27 comparator I found that the shoulder of new 22 Hornet Hornady cases come out at .888" and R.P. cases .931" and a fired R.P. case in my new rifle comes out at .914.
Just thought interesting.

Perhaps Hornady thought it best to make the shoulder smaller so that you might fire form to your chamber? No harm done as it headspaces on the rim. If you neck size from then on, I have found the brass lasts considerably longer, short of opening the chamber to K hornet.
