300-MP Powder Charge for 9.5x47R

Sanity check for calculation I did for 215gr, 0.328" ... 9.5x47R

for a 32-40 a posted charge for 201gr bullet was 13.7gr of 300-MP.
So I did a calculation:
13.7gr:201gr weight = x charge:215gr
Answer is 14.6gr of 300-MP powder

Charge sound reasonable in safe territory?

John,

I only breech seat, but in my 32-40 I use anywhere from 12.4 to 14.8 gr.with a 217 gr bullet.  Can find an accurate load at both ends of the range.

I do have quite a bit of experience with the powder now having gone through over sixty four pounds of it for myself in the 32-40, 35-55, 25-21 and 25-35 and it has worked out very well for myself. But you still just have to live through your own experience with it to determine if might work just as well for you as it has for myself.

John Boy don't shy away from trying the Magnum Primers it does seem to have a preference to the Primers it likes. So don't just stick with but one and then write the powder off and the Federal 210's is also one of those it really seems to like.

Sonny I've used Federal 215 Magnums + 300 MP with the 38-55 successfully.  They are my 1st choice and will do the initial 9.5x47R reloads with them. John Louis put me onto them.  He has 32-40 & 38-55 targets I'd drool for
PS: Thanks for the advice
