Is anyone from this forum planning to make it to this show next weekend?

Can't make it this year,  but it is one of the finest shows I've ever been to.   My wife thinks I have a screw loose for only wanting to go to Vegas for a gun show!

Greg,
Have fun out there. Maybe next year. My wife and Jason plan on coming to Big Hill this summer with me.

Never been there, but have several friends who tell me they'd never miss it. Supposed to be a wonderful show with many high end single shots, and other guns. Surprising to me was when they said there are still bargains to be found there. I always thought the guns there would all be at high prices. Some are they say, but still some good buys too.

A dealer I used to know well from the major shows in the northeast told me he ALWAYS jacked up his prices at least 25% when he took the same guns to the Baltimore show. One year he gave me a pass in return for watching his tables at Baltimore, & I saw for myself that he wasn't kidding--not only him, but a few other dealers I knew had all done the same thing!  Can't believe the same thing doesn't happen at Vegas.

That's simply good business sense on his part. He's obviously well aware of his market, and which shows bring in buyers who are looking for what he has to sell, and willing to pay more. Or not willing to pay asking price, so by marking them up, he allows them to negotiate a lower price and end up where he wanted to be anyway.
I've had good guns sit on my tables here for months. Then take the same guns to Reno or Denver, and mark them up. Often they sell at asking price, or close to it at a larger show. Doesn't mean they're overpriced, as they wouldn't sell if they were. It simply means I live in an area where the same guns wont bring the going rate.
I've had several big dealers who come to our annual collector show here and tell me they rarely sell a gun. But they bring extra cases to put all the guns they buy here in. They love the show, as it's a high quality show; but they also like buying and selling those guns elsewhere at a profit. That is why they're in the business after all.

'06,
It's been a couple years since I've been to it- I see its in new or different digs than my last trip...  ☺ - my wife wonders the same.
The humor I see with the Vegas show is friends we've went with in the past come home with their pockets empty... I come home with my pockets empty but my arms full  😂

Rodney,
That's great to hear, we have room if you need a place to hang out, you're planning the Q after Big Hill?  Is the wife going to shoot? At least 22? I got one for her.
