Gent's... Please forgive my ignorance... But when Alox is mentioned for adding to lube recipe's ... are you talking about the product sold by the Lee company? Thanks... Randy A.

Every time I have bought a Lee sizing die it came with a small bottle of the stuff, as it is not suitable for use as a BP lube I either give it away to anybody that wants it. As for mixing up my own lube concoctions I can't be bothered and just use SPG.

Alox 350 is what I use, not the Lee liquid product. Alox 350 is a thick, sticky grease. There may be recipes for using the Lee product also, but I'm unaware of any.

I have some bottles of the Lee liquid alox, but the only thing I use it for is to color my lube mix if I want to change the usual cream color my lube has.

Not all Alox is created equal.
The Lee liquid aloe works fair for smokeless if applied so the stuff covers all the bearing surfaces, but doesn't work worth a flip for blackpowder loads.
Other lubes such as Sagebrush Alox lube will work with either smokeless or black.

JerryH is referring to Javelina Schuetzen Lube and it's what most of us use.
