Schuetzen Bob I am trying to imagine the angle of the through bolt going through the butt stock. It is more apparent on the other three and that is one Beautiful Rifle indeed!

John, yes....the head of the through bolt would have to be right under the top tang of the butt plate. I have a Ballard that someone long ago, heated and bent the tang down so that the through bolt went down at a greater angle to get more drop. If you wanted even more drop, then the through bolt would end up coming out at the back of the cheek piece.

Thank you for your clarification Schuetzen Bob it didn't appear to be an easy feat to accomplish the way the angle of the tail is normally attached to the back of the action.

Those buttstocks are absolutely gorgeous! That style of stock might not appeal to everyone, but they sure do "wind my watch"!

For myself, there's nothing that's as attractive as a fine old schuetzen rifle, whether it's a custom, or a factory version. I remember the first one I ever saw like it was yesterday. It totally changed my whole direction in gun buying and shooting.

Vall when I first laid my eyes on my first Schuetzen rifle it had the same affect on me their charm was unlike any others I had seen. When I finaly owned and learned how to compete with one I soon learned their accuracy was unlike any others that I had seen. The pure joy my rifles have brought me over the years has been second to none and the mutually respected friendships along the way priceless.

First one I saw I wondered why anyone would want one if those goofy things, but I was only about 10 years old. I figured it out
