So, if I invest $ in a program to calculate loads, which one should I buy?  and why?

Word of mouth by those with experience would be by far the best way to go in my own opinion. They all have their own faults unlike us humans who have been around awhile where it's been tested and tried.

We are in agreement.  BUT I still would like to see, from those that use them, some discussion of what folks like/don't-like about the programs.

I have been using Quick-Load for ten years or more now and it is a huge help with the really weird stuff. I started with a Powley slide rule long ago with good results but this program just keeps getting better in my opinion. Of course they stress that it is NOT for load development and I agree but if you use your head and have other resources like a Pressure Trace system and a good chronograph you can be pretty confident. I always ask people to give me the actual chronograph readings and the load and gun particulars for whatever load they are trying and run those numbers through the program. If everything is correct it will usually predict within 100 fps of the actual reading. Like I said I have been running it for at least ten years and I am still learning the little tricks that are in it. Would I recommend it? Yes, I would but with great care to someone that is new to reloading. Thanks, ratseye
