I am a black powder guy so that's the route I will be going. I just got some 165 gr. .321 bullets and 40 loaded rounds today and will start with that and see where it goes. the 25-20 I shoot both black and smokeless in it mainly because it is a favorite for others to shoot and the smokeless are less work. but for hunting, nothing but black powder. I would like to find some 32-40 stamped brass.

Nice 1885's. Not boring at all. Could look at 1885's all day long. My favorite rifle. If you are looking for a tang sight for the high wall, keep checking e-bay. They do show up once in awhile. Dale.

Although you might not want it for hunting, the Saeco #632 165gr bullet will probably work quite well in that rifle.  I have an original in .32-40 that I shoot with that bullet.  Breech seated with a CPA plugged cartridge case as it seats quite easily and shoots well with a case full of FFg or even Fg.   I once thoroughly embarrassed a guy with a modern scoped rifle who thought his would do better offhand at 200m.

You might be able to shoot that one as fixed ammo, but only the base band would likely be in the case.

Chris.

got some shooting in today. I need a front sight that I can see, really having trouble with this one. paper was 5 shots at 40 yards, blow tube between shots. average fps was 1484. the "up and down" in the group is me with this front sight. 5 shots at steel at 140 yards, the orange is about 5" across. I really like the tang sight and I am happy with this load combo until I get a front sight. once that happens, I think the groups will close right up.

How do you make the pictures smaller?
