Congratulations and some nice eating and some nice Shooting as well!
I was on another site today and they now have scopes that pair up with a Cell phone, scope and a satalite follow the directions and apparenty you can't miss no matter the range. I thought it was called fair chase where the animal is supposed to have a fair a chance of surviving such an ordeal?

Congratulations! Good eating there. It's a good feeling of accomplishment to take game "old school".

That is a great looking Hi-Wall. By the way, have you made out your will yet? I could give it a loving home and it would be a great companion for my 38-555.

"old school" for me has been hunting with flintlocks for the last 30 years, heck these guns are "high tech" for me Smiley

That's some nice work. I shot a buck a little lower than it looks like you did. He wandered off through the brush with his tail straight up an wagging. I tracked him 50 or 60 yards through some fresh snow and found him laying there deader than Abraham Lincoln. The 470 grain flat point 45-70 bullet hadn't penetrated the chest cavity but had hit the bottom of the briskit. When I gutted him out the only damage I found was a bad bruise on the bottom of the heart. It says a lot about the killing power of big soft bullets.
