The schuetzen measure I have can be changed to allow differences in charge drop per click. Pretty sure most Harrell's have this feature?
You simply turn in the correct setscrews on the end of the charge adjustment to change the rate per click.

Any kind of plastic container go to these guys.  Instant shipping at reasonable cost no order too small. They have bottles to fit Harrell’s

I just ordered some Delrin balls in several sizes. Use them under the set screw on loading die lock rings keeps from deforming the threads . Some larger to go under the lock screws on lathe and mill finals.

Only issue is their bottles don't have the plug in the bottom like a Harrell's does. So if you want to dump a charge back in you have to remove the bottle.

Easy to drill a hole and insert plugs available at most hardware stores, or just drill hole if not storing powder. Use a hole saw of the chosen size.

Vall,

I was told that those 3 screws do indeed change the clicks per turn.  I think I heard it from Mark (marcusp323) at our local range.  Does anyone have any instructions on how to adjust them?

Got to tell you guys, I learned about the two different sizes of Harrells measures from bpjack, who talked me out of buying the larger one - that he had for sale!  Thanks Jack!  Is this a great fraternity or what?

Regards, Joe

....My larger Harrell’s is no longer in production . It was his economy model exact name I can’t recall. Bought from ?Lynwood Harrell in his shop about 1998-1999 . Basically the same design no bearings. You can feel the lack of bearings, it still throws well.

The Schuetzen measure also doesn't have bearings. Someone else mentioned it in a previous thread, and I pulled mine apart just to just check. The bearing models are nice, but I don't think one could go wrong with their products. Thanks for commenting on your light load test.

Shhhh Joe,

Patty bought that one I had at Spokane for Westerner.  Actually it was just as accurate just not as fine clicks.  Maybe it could be adjusted to give what my smaller one gets.  Even though mine can throw .025gr per click, with 300MP I usually adjust in 10th gr increments.

Some have 3 screws, some 2, and some only one. I have no idea what they do or how they work, but I'd like to!

I got the info from Harrell's, but don't recall how they work today. I know that turning each screw of the three changes the charge rate per click, and that you can leave them all fully out, or any of the three fully turned in. I also recall that all of them turned in gives the smallest rate per click.
I'd have to contact Harrell's again, as I don't find the information at their web site now. I often wonder why they have this feature and don't mention it clearly in their manuals or at their site?

Here's what the instructions say:

6 clicks between numbers, .1 grain per click adjustment, easily converts to 4 clicks

I do know you don't want to work on one while sitting at the range, in the grass. You'll never find the tiny bits.  I know a guy that did that.

I bought a Harrell benchrest measure years ago. I remember it being really accurate. Got it out a month ago and it didn't throw very well. Its been many years since I used it. I guess I have just forgotten how to use it.

Glad I read this thread. I need to get it back out and play with it. I have become dependent on the RCBS digital dispenser.
