This may be the DC version of what Mr Meyers has in mind, If not I can take pictures of the 233 gr version, too.

There is no better quality mold on the market. I personally don't like vent lines but, these molds have the minimum depth that you can put into the surface of the blocks and still have vents.

I would also suggest that no one should put index marks in these fine, round cavity's even the DC's.

Well an LOL in no way addressed the request and of no help to anyone here?  And what is an LOL exactly I have heard it is Laughing Out Loud but I must have missed the humor in the serious concerns of the others that have been stated?

No better quality you say I have yet to hear of anyone who purchased a new bullet mould and then had to have the sprue plate surface ground to be able to use it. That does not include some of the other faults that others have mentioned?

JL,
Please point out the short coming, in the pictures that I posted. The scratch in the last picture, was my doing.

The problem JL, is that you always have some sort of issue or something negative to say about anything that I post, agree with, or have anything positive to say, regarding what ever it is.

NOE stands behind ANYTHING they sell and will replace anything or refund the price on anything that a customer has a issue with.

All they have to do is call and tell NOE what is at issue. It will be dealt with within 24 hours and I've never heard of anyone not being satisfied. He (Al) goes out of his way to to make sure of that.

Before I had anything to do with NOE, about 10 years ago, I bought one of their molds, it cast small, I called about it and he had another mold in the mail, the next day but, asked if I'd rather have a refund. He also paid the return shipping.

He didn't know me from anyone!

See how long that takes with Lyman or SAECO or if they even answer you. Brooks is good about replacing a mold too but, if you send a drawing to him, it's not likely you'll get what you order. I had that issue and at least two other forum member have too as I supplied the drawings for them.

With NOE, you get what the drawing says it will be, you get it ROUND, on center and a high quality finish, at 1/3 the amount of a Brooks mold. You also get ROUND and on center with a Brooks mold. Brooks molds are indeed high quality.

Let's address the ONLY complain listed, Bob's. Bob choose to do his own fix, I'm sure he never called Al about it (my assumption) or Al would have sent another plate. Regarding Bob's not understanding, what he is calling a strange sprue plate, I don't understand that. It's hinged from the back and you tap the front of the plate to open it, like most custom molds.

Can you tell us more about that, Bob?

The only other complaint he had was that it is heavy, we all agree on that but, a heavy mold will make high quality bullets. I, myself have thought of milling the bottom and lower sides to lighten mine. On a SC molds, you can make two large and or elongated holes between the guide pins and the cavity. Drill holes in the bottom and or under the sprue plate.

I've never had an issue with mold size or weight myself. But after seeing those pictures of the inside of the NOE molds, I'm going to give them a try on the next mold I need to buy.

Don't know why, but my aluminum NOE mold works better when poured from the dipper, rather than the dipper nozzle inserted into the sprue plate.
Nice mold, round and drops well. Sample of one.
Two cavity mold. Cannot tell the difference, weighing, measuring or otherwise.

NOE uses rather large blocks and with a single cavity they are heavier, two cavity would be that much lighter. This is not meant to be a complaint, just facts.

I'm going to make this a separate post, for the benefit of anyone that would like to lighten the single cavity NOE molds.

You can do the following with just a drill press:

Drill holes in the bottom and or under the sprue plate, any place that it won't intersect with the screws, pins and bushings or the cavity, itself.

Drill holes through the sides of the blocks, in the slot for the handles and above and below that slot. Again, take care that the holes don't hit any of the above parts.

With a milling machine:

You can contour around the attachment screws for the handles at 4 places on the bottom and 2 places on the top.

OR, buy a few cans of spinach and work on that arm  Smiley

For guy's that use the PJ molds, with with SAECO handles. I just weighted my PJ 33 caliber mold, with that handle. It weighs 1.90 lb.

The NOE brass mold weights 2.09 lb, with 6 cavity Lee handles or, 3 oz more.

I'll add in agreement that my experience with NOE molds have been nothing but good. I only have a few of their aluminum, so no thought about their brass molds. My previous experience with an aluminum mold was good with an NEI back in the eighties. I think NOE is a solid value, and if I'm not mistaken, they're running a pretty good sale right now.

You are correct, about the sale.

I have a couple brass NOE molds.  I haven't use them a lot, but no complaints.  A good heavy mold block gives you a bit of a work out.  Kill 2 birds at once.  Save a trip to the gym and more time for shooting.  Roll Eyes
