I bought a used NOE .25-100gr. f.p. on another site and quality is excellent.  Never was much of a fan of aluminum moulds but this one has proved to be the most accurate so far in my .25 Ack. Imp. Krag.  Very low rate of rejects in long casting session with most holding +- .0002gr.  Yesterday, I received a used NOE .32-115 pointed.  This is a tapered bullet for breech seat.  dbl. cav. but HEAVY!  not tried out yet... going to get a workout using this one.

I do have a NOE brass mould in 32 cal single cavity, It is beautifully made and casts a nice round bullet. The only problem I have is it is heavy and gets heavier by the end of a long casting session. Could be I'm not a spring chicken anymore. I have never tried an aluminum mold, but may be a solution. I have been casting bullets for more years than I like to admit, but over 50,  and I have, and used well over 100 moulds, but for some reason avoided aluminum. Maybe hypnosis would help with the phobia?

I have a brass 376329 PB 2 cavity , very nice mold , both cavities cast well , warms fast , very consistent , they shoot well from a thin side high wall with a 15 twist barrel marked Verl Sigmon . Also when I talked to the owner on the phone he was very courteous and helpful , A positive experience with N.O.E.

I have only owned one aluminum mould in the past seventeen years and that pretty much speaks for itself. I do like Brass allot and the material I choose to make my own moulds out of. If the NOE's don't have still inserts for the alignment pins one just needs to be a bit more careful not to wear the alignment holes out of round. To me Brass casts a better quality bullet than the various Iron moulds such as Cast etc. but that's just my own personal opinion.

I have several aluminum NOE moulds and I agree that the quality is very high.  They cast terrific bullets and they have a wide selection of moulds on their website.

I may have passed my "Best Before" date, but I haven't quite reached my "Expiry" date yet ...

I don't own an NOE brass mold, but I do own a couple brass molds. They cast nicely and bullets drop easily from them.
Unlike aluminum molds, the sprue plates don't gall the top of the molds either.

Should work if it is indeed exactly the same and it does fit the groove of your barrel Keith and probably worth giving it a try. I have found when using the Brass blocks pot temp. should be a bit higher and at 800 and even maybe plus but I also make my blocks smaller than most. On the left a Mos 25 in the middle one of my uncut brass blanks and on the right a 154 grain 28 Cal. mini mould and the Cats Meow to cast with.

I have an NOE mold that casts a .322 two diameter Paul Jones bullet, it's an excellent mold, and one of the few I've owned that's centered so that the bullet drops right out. On the down side, it's VERY HEAVY, I had to have a friend surface grind the sprue plate, and I had to develop a method of opening the strange sprue plate when I cast.....other than that it's OK..... I have never liked Aluminum molds they cool too quickly and aren't heavy enough to be a boat anchor so they are useless. Brass make great molds the problem with NOE is the blocks are about twice the size they need to be. One other thing when you get the mold lap the bottom of the sprue plate, or better yet throw it away and make a decent plate 3/16" thick.

I agree that NOE's molds are a bit heavy in brass but, so are the SAECO molds. NOE's are 1/4 longer than SAECO. PJ molds are just a little shorter than SAECO. All heavier than they need be for single cavity molds. My favorite SC mold size is the Ron Long molds.

To NOE's credit, NOE, specifically made SC molds for this forum because the people here wanted them in SC. The first SC molds that they ever made. He did the SC in their DC mold blocks because it's a major expense to make the smaller blocks for such a extremely, limited market as us.

If you add the weight of the SAECO and DC Lyman handles (same handle), to the mold, it increases the weight, even more. My suggestion is to use the Lee handles with the NOE brass molds, it helps the weight issue and they are what NOE makes their molds to be used with.

BTW, NOE uses STEEL bushings for the pins, in all of their molds.

You need to follow NOE's instructions of what to do with the mold, before casting, too.

Getting to the point of not having to many choices with most of the custom mould makers no longer being around and I don't see it getting any better down the road unfortunately. Does anyone have a picture of their NOE Mould besides the size of the blocks, sprue plate, its flatness and how it is manipulated it doesn't seem to have very many positive characteristics going for it.
