Cleaning?

How frequently (after how many rounds) do you clean a rifle in the small .32 Schuetzen chamberings?

Any special techniques or materials, like solvents?

At the very minimum the end of each shooting session or if I see the accuracy starting to fall off during a match. I use JB and homebrewed solvent after cleaning. My 32-40 needs to be cleaned after two 10 shot targets and sighters or it will fall off. My 28-35SS will go quite a bit longer without having to worry about it starting to fall off but I typically clean it the same as the 32-40.

Clean has different meanings between shooters. As an example, like 40_Rod, I clean at the end of a shooting day. However, when shooting my bench rest 32-40, I wipe after about 25 shots. By wipe I mean a partial cleaning to maintain best accuracy from the barrel. To ensure you don't put an undue amount of wear on the throat, I recommend the use of a bore guide for your cleaning rod.
Hope that helps

There are indeed two Americas. Simply put, it is not the haves and have nots. The two Americans are in reality divided into those who do and those who don't.

Thanks for the replies, gents.

Has anybody tried Montana Xtreme Cowboy blend?  I got a bottle as a door prize.  Supposed to be formulated for lead and powder fouling.  Pretty strong odor.

One thing for sure, I'd rather avoid lead fouling than clean it out of a barrel.  Not always easy to do.

Paul that cowboy blend is good stuff. I use it to clean up when a match is over. Really pulls the carbon and other junk out.
I've also taken to using their Accuracy oil in the bore after I get home and put the rifle's back in the safe.

A patch wetted with B12 or Seafoam does a great job of removing carbon deposits.  Use a dry patch after; those fumes will ignite if fired while the barrel is wet  Cheesy
