I’m new to this forum and trying to ID a Schutzen rifle for a friend. Attached is one pic of the action and stock. I’ve seen one of these when searching the internet, but there was no other info.
Tks

Here is a photo of mine. The system Korncurenz is the only striker fired German schuetzen other than some Martinis that I know of. I shoot 175 gr stop ring bullet cast 25 to 1, 13.5 gr IMR4227, Remington 9 1/2 primer.
Thanks Mike

I can think of no German action with an exposed hammer like a Hiwall, most have a hammer inside the block. Most German martinis have an internal hammer. I have original sights for most of my German Schuetzens, but keep them in a separate case to prevent damage when traveling to and from the range.

I have a repro of a Lechner, it's a striker and the one, that I believe Hoch designed his action after.
Lechner is very similar to this and yamoon's Koncorenz. It also has a removeable plate on the BB.

My rifle has no proof marks making it difficult to date, perhaps prior to the first German proof law of 1891 which went into affect in 1893.

Was there a Lechner with a external hammer for cocking the striker?
Joe.
I can't tell you, Joe. All I know about them is what DeHaas wrote.
Here is another name and spelling for the action. This looks just like mine.
Getting very confusing now!!!

DeHaas calls it a Lechner, Look in SS Rifles and actions.
That's where I first saw them. And my repro was said to be a Lechner, when I got it. But, DeHaas says the gun that he's calling a Lechner, was stamped Lechner on the barrel. Maybe Lechner was just a barrel maker?

Tks to all who have responded so far. I can add a couple of additional pieces of info. The barrel is stamped on top “W Erlen Cannstatt”, on a side flat about midway down the barrel it is stamped “Guss-Stahl”. There is also a “Krupp Essen” stamped on the barrel which I suspect is a reference to the steel. There are proof marks on the block and receiver.
I don’t have any info on the caliber. Conidition is not great. I’ve not personally handled this piece so can’t add any more. Any rough ideas as to value?

I have seen it spelled with a C & a K, don’t know which is correct. Hans Lechner won some shoots in the early 20th century. He also retailed rifles in Nuremberg. I never understood why the Adyt was so popular and the concurenz was not.
