Is your question in regards to hunting, punching paper, or?

There are three kinds of men: The ones that learn by reading, the few who learn by observation, and the rest who have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.

From the Eley site:
(You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

Quote:
The iconic flat nose projectile of ELEY tenex is one of many innovations pioneered by ELEY engineers. As it cuts through the air its revolutionary design pulls the centre of pressure forwards, aerodynamically stabilizing the projectile and increasing accuracy at the target.

There's a note about the Eley .22 Long Rifle Edge Flat Nose Rimfire Ammo
( (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links) ) that says:

Quote:
The flat nose design of the Eley .22 Long Rifle Edge Flat Nose Rimfire Ammo is methodically developed to increase the frictional force between the case and bullet to deliver consistent propellant burn. This cutting-edge cartridge has a distinctive black oxidized finish. The surface of the bullet is treated to a flat shape to offer excellent precision.

Maybe this webpage might add additional food for thought?

You'll have to see if your particular gun concors, or not.

Don't think there's anything "revolutionary" about a (semi) wadcutter bullet, but it's a proven design, from the standpoints both of accuracy & performance on game.  There's an  aerodynamic drawback, but that comes into play only at long range.

Long before this new bullet design, I had always used Tenex for hunting, flattening the nose with a file die made for that purpose; no obvious difference in accuracy, but big difference in impact.
