The stock through bolt option is available for rifle builds.  Wouldn't this be a good investment at $150?

Very much so.

I shot a Stevens 44 1/2 that had loosend its stock screws in the tang.
When I shot bench with it the groups were larger than when I shot offhand with it.

The through bolt pulls the stock tight against the stock and prevents vibrations from the stock shifting in the bags.

Will definitely see major improvements in bench accuracy on older rifles.

Of course the new rifles have tighter screws in the tangs that have not yet loosened up over the years from recoil.

But a tight through bolt will also prevent them from loosening from future recoil as well.

I would not go with the CPA through bolt myself I have seen to many issues with out my way. All related to trigger adjustments and sear engagements and I have worked on one more than one and there is not much one can do to correct it. There is also very little stock to action mating surfaces just two little tenon's on each side and the middle is completely morticed out. I have seen more than one when looking down from the top where you can actually see past the tangs and see the top of the shooting bench below they were just not designed to accommodate one based on my own experience.

When my sear was not perfectly aligned in my CPA I found the middle screw on the receiver had loosened up.

It would keep doing this.

Finally I used Red locktite on her and and stopped the problem.

At first I thought I needed to adjust the trigger and sear.
That was not the case.
Everything would be correct again after I tightened that middle screw on the side of the receiver.

I have 2 CPA rifles with the through-bolt option.  The through-bolt interferes with proper trigger operation on both.

If you do choose the through-bolt option, resist all temptation to "bear down" when tightening the bolt.  There is an almost 100% chance that you will lock up the triggers.
