When I found out SAECO was offering Tapered as in "Pope" style
I ordered 2 of each in 32-40,33-40,38-55. When they came the cavity's were really nice, clean and sharp. But the cavity blocks were LARGE as in big enough to be two or more cavity's. Needed to buy SAECO handles just to use them. Handles are 11" long. Big heavy Mold blocks at the end of a long handle. I am Old and Lazy. Tried one set and gave up in disgust. Too used to Original Ideal with handle and Blocks as an integrated unit. So gave up on them. Later sold/traded one of the 32-40 set to a friend and he used them successfully. Asked him at one point how they were shooting. He said great except that they showed serious tipping at 200 Yds. And every once in a while he would have one go through the Paper flat side way's. I asked about the weight, and he said 210.0 Grs.
I thought it a little just to heavy and measured the overall length. It was 1.050 Long. Now my bullets from a Pope Mold measure 1.0000 Long and weigh 193.0 Grs. So I setup the SAECO and machined .050 off the Base. Came out to weigh
195.0 Grs, still tipped a little but no more side way's holes. So
how good are SAECO Molds. They are well cut cavity's and will cast good bullets. You will develop some muscle casting with them. HTH. Regards, FITZ. OLD TUCK
PS as to size the one we dealt with had a nice Taper and the base finished about .323/.324 as cast. It Breach seats nicely
in an original Winchester Schuetzen and a Steven's Schuetzen
that he shoots. FITZ.
