Low Wall Varmint Rifle

Good Morning,
I hope today finds you well. So I've been thinking about building a Low Wall in  a Varmint Rifle configuration chambered in 22 LR.
I envision a pistol grip stock, heavy barrel and a beavertail type forestock. (Possibly the same contour as a Ruger No. 1 Varmint.)
I've searched online for an example of a well executed Low Wall Varmint with a beaver tail type forestock and really haven't found much.
Do you guys have any examples?
Thank You,
Scott

Scott the below link should take you to the CPA Forearm section and on page two I believe there is a Stevens 418 forearm design I believe you might be interested in and Gail should be able to duplicate it for a low wall. Also wouldn't hurt to call and talk to her about your needs. Also a link to a Ruger forearm you might like she should also be able to duplicate for a low wall.
Also Treebone Carving has some nice Ruger designs and he should be able to do the same.

Scott,

This is a 22 built on a low wall action. Probably a little heavier than you mentioned and not a beavertail fore stock. Made into a nice small game rifle for the client. Winchester forearms are easy to make in any configuration desired so something like thatfound on a #1 Varmint would not be a problem to come up with.

Thanks for the feedback guys. This rifle would only be shot out of a rest so weight is not a concern. In fact the heavier the better.
Take Care,
Scott

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

Plenty of High Walls in varmint or bench rest configuration, so adapting the look of a High Wall to a Low Wall format shouldn't be tough. I'd simply search for images of 1885 varmint rifles, and see what shows that lights your fire.

Here's a Hal Hartley stocked one on a website:

Is the Low Wall action strong enough to be safe with a .25-222?

Definitely not.

For the sake of clarity, the Hal Hartley Low Wall referenced above is chambered in 25-222, hence the question.
