Rather nicely done. Smiley
Not sure which is worth more; the wood or the iron.

Beautiful rifle.  That nicely figured wood is crying out for some checkering ...

I may have passed my "Best Before" date, but I haven't quite reached my "Expiry" date yet ...

If I have it checkered I will probably let Kathy Forster do it.
She did a wonderful job on my Hyper Single.

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

Very nice job! I never did get mine checkered, but planned to. I just got to where I liked the smooth stocks better. Glad I waited, or I'd have been stuck with checkering. I did mine in .40-65 Win. on an original BP Sporter action. 32" full round 3.5 weight barrel.

Skeletonized buttplate.

Both of these Rollers are very, very nice. Both are something to be proud of. Dale.

Thanks Butch!
The receiver came from the late Whitey Hanson. Wood came from another friend who passed away. Buttplate from my friend Wind who passed away this year.
I let this gun slip away years ago, and another good friend ended up with it. He sold it back to me this summer, so very happy to get it home again.
It loves the RCBS 350CSA bullets, and is very consistent at 650 yds. Pretty consistent at 1000 yds., and maybe better in somebody else's hands.

Good for you. Hope I might be lucky enough to receive a couple of mine.

That's some fine old iron there. Nice to see the old rifles getting restored and used as they were meant to be. Both rifles look to be very well crafted, so congratulations to you both! Thanks for posting these fine rollers.

For checkering, you can't go wrong with Tim at Classic Checkering. He does a great job and his prices are very reasonable. I've had him checker Rollers (straight grip and pistol grip), Ballards, and Hepburns and have been very pleased with his work.
