Front sight

Being fairly new at this, wondering if this is an original Winchester
Front sight or who made it . Would like insert with apture instead of a wide post that is in there ,but it is probably as rare as hens teeth. Maybe new sight in future. Any thoughts?

Thanks doug

It is hard to identify from the picture, but the wide post sounds like a parts unknown aka red river sight if so , pm your address and I will send you an aperture. See if it fits. Rodney

Looks like a Winchester or Stevens repop, but MVA sells sight cards for them if you want a variety. It's the 3rd card on the right.

Measure the thickness of that insert, MVA's inserts are a bit thinner than the copy's of that sight from Pedersoli/Uberti etc.

I think his sight is a Parts Unknown copy of a Winchester. But MVA inserts are .012" thick, so you can put a feeler gauge into your sight slot to see how thick your slot is now. A little play of .002" or less wont be an issue. The clip holds them very well.
