Alamo Schuetzen Verein in New Braunfels, 1960's???

I don't have any information on this picture other than man standing closest to the tree is Arnold Knibbe.  I recognize the shooting range as the Alamo Schuetzen Verein and guess it would be sometime in the 1960's.  By this time, the clubs shot .22's almost exclusively.  Both offhand and rest.  These old guys all are mostly holding rest rifles.  We shoot off a stair stringer style front rest standing up.  The devises under the muzzle rest on top of and can be pressed into the rest.  Where you see a large hook on the top of the stock is to rest on top of your shoulder.

Guy on the left looks sad. Probably because his rifle weighs so much. Makes me sad when I have trouble holding mine up

Looks like these guys were getting old enough that they were more into benchrest shooting.

Nice assortment of old single shot rifles. I see one appears to be a bolt action, which surprises me. Guessing they didn't have an issue with rules at that match?
