Re reading my post on shooting coats I should clarify.  I don’t think they are advantage, but on the disadvantage.   Coats are a crutch, start using a crutch instead of learning to hold a rifle properly and paying focused attention to NPA you won’t progress. There is nothing a jacket will do that a shooter in a T shirt can’t do.

That’s my opinion, want proof, the only test that counts, look at ISSA match results.

I just check the ISSA scores from 2018 and found not many scores over 200. Maybe the smoke from all the wildfires was throwing them off. How about using a sling in prone?  They are certainly an unneeded crutch too.

I shoot the Western NY & Easter, NY ASSRA matches. There doesn’t seem to be any ISSA matches in the East. Our last WNY shoot is this weekend.

That is a sign of age.  I noticed that too.  The guys that used to in the 220s every time are now in their mid 70s to early 80s.

Many top shooters are no longer competing.

They would still be considered juniors at ASSRA matches!

ISSA 2018 Raton Jim Luke’s the winner s lowest AS offhand score was 207 highest 220.  Squadded relay at Raton no telling what the wind conditions were. It’s true the best offhand shooters are in NRA rule silhouette

Are you trying to be obnoxious ? It sure seems that way

Why try to organize at least one ISSA match, during the year?

I started a ASSRA club, here in my area, in '86 (ISSA didn't exist then). I had a family and worked a full time job, while doing it.

ISSA is arranged differently, than ASSRA. You would only have to get a range and date, promote a match and then hold it. You don't have to round up members to get a affiliation, like ASSRA. No meetings or monthly matches to contend with. It's much easier than forming a ASSRA club.

RSW, could help you with setting one up.

ISSA match rules are available at:
(You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)
Click the ISSA SCHUETZEN MATCH REGULATIONS link on that page to download a PDF.
ISSA local matches are regional matches held at locations throughout the western 2/3rds of the country. List of regionals are also listed on the ISSA website. We are always open to the prospect of establishing a new regional match. Feel free to contact me to further discuss.
Our main match is the annual Schuetzenfest held in August at the NRA Whittington Center, New Mexico.

There are indeed two Americas. Simply put, it is not the haves and have nots. The two Americans are in reality divided into those who do and those who don't.

Boats go review his scores seems there might be some smoke floating around in the air where he shoots also?

We can’t shoot ASSRA matches at our club because of range time.  The 600 meter range with 200 meter berms is occupied 3 weekends per month one left for casual shooters ISSA squadded match offhand and bench could run in afternoons .

How about holding the matches through the week, most shooters are retired and those that work can use vacation time.

Scott seems to be in the top ten, OH shooters, in SS, with a average score of 207, for the last year. Feren and Luke have averaged about 217 in the last year. Gary Miller is just behind them for 2017 and back. This year Gary has sever medical issues.

He is good OH!
