	Redsetter, they would just rechamber their Ballards for the 375. I'll have to admit that one time in the age of commemoratives I did buy a 94 American Bald Eagle in 375 on spec. Sold it several years later without ever taking it out of the box. Might have been neat. They certainly bring a lot more now.

They weren't introduced till 1978. Aaron I stated a(1) load of .375 Win and any 1894 in good working order will withstand a(1) load. Winchester proofed their 38-55 rifles with comparable loads knowing full well the standard .375 Win was not a hazard to their rifles when they introduced the round.

	1 of 375 round bends the bolt and causes headspace issues. I've tested same at Winchester. FWIW, same for .454 Casull, but it takes more rounds than 1. Also, in the context of this discussion, making the point that 1 round would not cause harm is moot, unless you assume the next buyer would only shoot the rifle one time with 375 Win. Unlikely. 	Every Winchester centerfire rifle that I know of has a proof mark to show it can withstand normal pressures. The proof load that was fired in every 38-55 was at a higher than normal pressure, would you know that pressure? Yes, I do. 40,500 CUP. I've also been to SAAMI meetings and argued over some of their reference ammo pressures using my (Winchester's) universal receiver and the copper crusher method. I also did some testing on production Model 70's using the transducer method, but have forgotten the values. Happy New Year, Aaron As you seem to be a fan of pre-64 Model 70's, you might be interested to know I worked on the design team and did all the testing of the controlled round feed re-introduction on the Model 70.

	The OP's rifle could be sold a hundred times, blown up the same number of times...... Like a match, they only blow up once. I, personally have blown up, on purpose, about 100 rifles/shotguns as part of my job at USRAC. Happy New Year, Aaron
