	It is a lyman 103, possibly for a ballard. There will be a letter code on the base that will tell you for sure what it fits.

	Likely 1.5" for a Stevens, and not 1.125" for a Ballard or Marlin.

	If you take the time to measure the 103 base, and especially that portion of the base in which the windage components operate, it becomes pretty obvious why the narrower center to center mounting screw spacings weren't feasible for the 103 like they were with the Lyman 1, 1A, 2, and 2A sights.

	The staff looked short for a Stevens, the proof is on the base, as I said. Most anyone here will have the codes.

	Good luck buying a 103 for $300. I see them at gun shows and never seen one less than $400 for probably close to a decade. Stevens is the least expensive, but Winchester will get $475-$500 minimum, unless you stumble across someone who hasn't kept up on prices.

	Those all sold very cheaply. Certainly not what I'm seeing them go for at major gun shows.

	BP Thanks for the referal to the earlier post. I do have two NO. 103 sights currently in use, and have had quite a few others. One is on my hunting Highwall,in 38-55. The other on a No47, 44 1/2 in 22LR, both are correctly marked on the base. I also have a Ballard with a 3rd hole in the receiver that matches the Stevens spacing. At the time that these were in common use, the intrinsic value would doubtful be reason enough not to drill another mounting hole. Witness the number of holes on many barrels from that time. This has been very informative and thanks to all.
