Jameison 25-20SS ammo

I bought a Stevens 25-20 SS and got some Jameison factory ammo. I pulled the 87 gr spitzer cause I shoot lead in my ladies. I substituted an 81 gr Louvern style with GC and boy how that did shoot! My nephew commenced to put all 20 RDS in a ragged hole at 50 yards off the bench using Lyman tang and Beach lollipop front. He is excellent rifle shot. My question is,Does anyone have any good info on what powder and charge weight they used? Have more bullets and would love to duplicate that load in 1x fired brass.
Thanks to all.
Bob

My old Stevens 25-20 SS likes 7.8 gr of 4227 with hard cast bullets.

Did you try calling Jameison?
I've had very good luck calling manufacturers.
Ask to talk to an engineer.

Good luck getting an answer on Jamison phone lines. Haven't answered their phones in a year.

Tried emailing also, but no reply. Word I heard is they're failing, and might be resold to possibly come back. But nothing is confirmed.

I had heard similar remarks about no reply so I had not made direct effort & reached out here. Great bunch of folks with vast knowledge & helping spirit. Just trying to find out what  they used as a load.
Thanks everyone

I sent them an email just now, but will probably have the same results as Vall.

If you'd weighed a few of their charges, and had chronographed the velocity, we might have been able to back into an equivalent load using Quickload.  My loads are 5.5 grains of Blue Dot, and 6.0 of AA#9, using a 96 grain plain base bullet.

Unless they've started back up again recently, Jamison/Captec closed their doors about a year ago.

What are you shooting those loads in?
Have you run through chrono?
Accuracy?
I have both of those powders and have wondered about #9.
Am willing to try new loads.
Thanks

Hueyw, had the same issues with seating & had to use a rod to knock cases out. The more I shot & sized the easier everything got. Another problem was that I was seating with my thumb very forcefully. When the cases got sized several times I would seat to extractor & let the block seat it . Got easier. Have a friend making a case trimmer pilot and will take a little. Overall, now seats & extracts pretty well.

I have found IMR 4227 to be good in my 25-20SS, 25-20WCF & 32-20 WCF. I am always searching for a little more accuracy. Gun shoots better than I can so it is possibly to appease my intellect.

Maximum overall length is used in relation to repeaters, single shots can be any length that will chamber.
