Hmmm That is interesting.  I am sure he worked on a couple of my rifles but he never marked them.

Of course its real. Have you never heard of the Parkenfarker dynasty of gunsmiths? A sample with the Parkenfarker stamp is rather rare.

Below are samples of Parkenfarker work. And a Parkenfarker target.

Did Harlow nickel plate the wing nuts on his palm rest or was that just hardware cad plating he was using? I think I once saw a rare, early one that was finished in lifetime-rust.

Oh yes I have heard of it and have seen a few examples over the years. Just have never seen a barrel marked as such. Don't you just love that threading job???

The experienced Parkenfarker gunsmith hath mastered the subtle art of metal displacement with the ball peen hammer. As you can see in the picture below, the clever Parkenfarker craftsman has used said metal displacement method to tighten a barrel up in the receiver.

The worst part was despite the fact that I dropped the rifle and new RKS barrel off at the smith’s shop and picked it up
As well and had some emails discussing the delays, he denied ever seeing the Ballard. Wes thinks he may have farmed the job out.

Well now I've got another method to adjust headspace! I might beat it all around so it matches all around!

Yes, that was the method employed in this case. Ingenious!

To a relative possibly. A nephew? Billy Bob Parkenfarker?

Maybe even a small chisel to make it look like an engraving pattern at the end! Or a center punch to make little dots all around!! The possibilities are endless!
Now just need my letter stamps to forge Parkenfarker's stamp!

I once saw a high wall that had strands of 4 ought steel wool to make up for sloppy undersized threads.
