Stumbled on this a minute earlier= Yes, Vall, it's another one of those 'Texas Jack' characters. photo identifying him as Texas Jack Jr. So, apparently, they were breeding.
Note that the image was taken in a place far from Texas. Right there in downtown Chicago!

Wonder why all those Jacks were in Texas, and never from other states? Never hear of a New York Jack, or Kansas Jack, or ???

A Crosman Model 102 air rifle.  And could that be Tracy to Hepburn's immediate left?

I wonder if the beard or the dog are props like the rifle and antler rack.

Pete's companion seems to have wanted to go Miss Oakley several times better, at least when it came to star pins,

Also, have you eve noticed how often photographers back then accumulated prop guns that we now see as "uncommon" or better?  I've often wondered how they got them.

I have a Stevens 368.  It came on my Ballard 32-40 which was my first 'Schuetzen' rifle.

Jack, my Stevens catalog doesn't show the No. 368, but it would be close to these. Do you use your Stevens scope? How long is your scope?

Here's a Stevens 161 Scope.

Is it in your catalog, Bob? What power is it?  I never used it much because I could hardly see the cross hairs. I can see them fine now since using a new intraocular lens.
