Which is just another way of saying that BC isn't important if the shooter is doing a good job and his loads are consistent.

If BC doesn't matter, just use a roundball  Roll Eyes

About .075  Sad  They don't shoot too well at 200 yards. Back in the day my .54 flinter would shoot about 3" @100.  Out of curiosity one day I tried 200 and it was about 12 or 14".

C'mon, fess up. When you shot that thing at 200, you upped the charge, because you 'knew' it needed more than your target load for a hun. C'mon, tell us........... Roll Eyes
I once shot my .32-40 at 300, and didn't even move the scope settings. True story*.

Lyman gives the measured Bc of a .440 RB at .043 @1000 fps and a .562 RB @ .055 at the same velocity. The Bc gets worse as the velocity rises.

When I shot muzzle loader, I got just about the same as Bob, with a 50 Cal, percussion rifle. 12" at 200 is about as good as it gets with a open sight round ball rifle.

I think I used to shoot about 75 or 80 FFg at 25  and 50 yds.  About 100 at 100.  I probably used my hunting load at 200 which would have been 120 FFG.. I don't recall the hold for 200, but I doubt one could get enough power to use the 100 yard setting at 200   Cheesy
