Lyman STS parts supply

I need a new screw that goes through the front mount of my STS  scope, somehow the original has got bent and won't turn smoothly. Finding something here that does not have a Phillips head and is blued, is nigh on impossible.

The real issue will be getting the old one out. I once agreed to try. Was successful but it took a lot of work to figure out WHERE? the Screw was, and how to make a setup that would put me right on it. Then drilled a series of holes from way under size thru the screw and opening it up with a left hand twist drill when it got near minor diameter. And then it just grabbed and screwed itself right out of the Aluminum. Also I got a replacement from the guy in Texas I think that just went in nice. The best advice you can give to a new shooter is 'DO
NOT USE A SCREW DRIVER ON THESE, THEY ARE DAMAGED EASILY" Use either a Penny or a Quarter finger tight. FITZ.

P.S. My memory seems to be telling me these were a fine thread, either forty or forty eight pitch cannot remember right now but Taps were available. FITZ.

Sorry if I have caused some confusion but  the screw I need is the one that passes through the serrated thumb wheel in the front mount. I don't know what that wheel  is called as I don't have a parts list.
Mike.
PS Where might one obtain a parts list in case I encounter more problems at a later date ?.

Can anyone with a parts diagram or part number help, are there any parts suppliers in your neck of the woods, there's none here.

You might have better luck finding a unicorn.

This is Unertl's dehorned mount but the screw should be the similar. I believe you are looking for item 16. Hope it helps.

Here is a patent on these type mounts which shows a pin retaining the screw.

The place to get a replacement clamp screw for your STS
is Parson's Scope Service.
He has helped me on a number of STS scope repairs

Parson's had picked up all the spare parts for the old Lyman scopes years ago from the Lyman factory.

Thanks for the drawings, now I have an idea of the part number although I'm still a little confused, the first drawing shows the screw as part # 16 and the wheel it passes through as part # 15.
The second drawing shows what appears to be the same bits, but this time the screw part number 8 and the wheel is part # 9.
Anyway I will now contact Parsons and see if they have one in stock, it may pay to get a couple so I have a spare.
Thanks to both you and Arnie for all your help.
Mike.

The first drawling is of a Unertl dehorned mount. I could not find the patent for Unertl Target mount.
The second drawling is from someone else patent. I think it is the same as Fecker. D.A. Baker worked for Fecker.

I have sent an enquiry to Parsons giving them the part numbers from the drawings you posted, I didn't notice they were Unertl  scopes, hope they can sort my problem and I have not confused them with the part numbers.
