Trailboss isn't a very good rifle powder , the pressures are to high and the velocity to low. If you look at the data on TB most bullets are leaving the barrel and the velocity that they start to loose stability when shooting long range.
Many other smokeless powders give better velocity and accuracy with less pressure.

A good friend of mine uses 12.5gr Trail Boss under a 405 gr bullet in his Trapdoor Springfield and does pretty good out to 250 yards.

That's funny I used 12 g and find it it is also very good load but I've only shot it out to a hundred. It shoots about as good as my Standard 12 gr of unique universal trapdoor  load.

I use it in a 45-70 levergun (loaded singly)  for NRA silhouette to 200 yds
I find it at least as accurate as the local classic load of 12 grains of Unique and it  shoots to the same point of aim--and due to the high loading density of TB dont have to worry about powder positional sensitivity givning tise to high/low shots
