Is there anyone out there that has matched tumblers for back action locks? I have looked everywhere and cannot find them. Tried all the black powder parts suppliers I can think of. I would gladly pay someone an reasonable amount to make me some. I have had this gun for 15 years. I know there are some somewhere I just can't find them. Any ideas or smiths come to mind?
I am desperate.......

Might help if you could provide a couple pictures,, and would tell everybody here who produced the particular lock and gun your referring to.
There are three kinds of men: The ones that learn by reading, the few who learn by observation, and the rest who have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.

Dixie Gun Works has some parts for back action locks. Peabody does use a back action lock. If you could post pics and tell us the make of your rifle that would help a lot. Frank

A long time ago I filed a tumbler out of a grade 8 bolt for a back action lock. I had a gunsmith turn out the round blank and I filed it out from there.

Track of the Wolf sold L&H locks and they made left and right back action locks. TOW also had parts for them.

Custom tumblers can be made, but are very time consuming.
Expect to pay dearly if you have them made.

L&R lock company makes all kinds of left and right tumblers. Should be able to match something up from there or R. Davis or Jim Chambers lock company. moodyholler

My Axtell 1877 Sharps has a back action lock and that model is now made by both Shiloh Sharps and C Sharps. Might give them a shout for parts.

I can copy yours but it is a costly process. I just purchased a 3d laser scanner. Neat stuff but still very labor intensive.

I've used a laser edge finder + DRO to trace the outline of parts. Tedious but cheap unless you have to hire it done. It will get you within filing distance.
