Engraver

I'm finishing up a paneled Borchardt and have made the panels from mild steel.  I would like to get them engraved in the style of some Ballards I've seen that say
Ballard on one side and Pacific on the other.  The style is sort of Germanic or gothic looking and is two or three line.

Can some one suggest an engraver who might do this work?  When finished I will either have them blued or color cased.

Thanks, John

You might consider Mark Swanson at:

He did a Ballard (Cody) for me a few years back with Ballard A1 on one side panel and Union Hill on the other. Nice work Smiley

There are indeed two Americas. Simply put, it is not the haves and have nots. The two Americans are in reality divided into those who do and those who don't.

Ken Hurst does magnificent work and he also donated allot of his work to the ASSRA raffle rifles and also received the Pope Award from the ASSRA for his very generous work. Seems a bit of a shame that he has not also been mentioned here not only for his quality of work but also for what he freely did for the ASSRA association.

J Louis ... is Ken Hurst still doing work?  I have a few beautiful examples from him 10+ years ago but haven’t heard his name mentioned in a very long time.

Joe I was afraid of hearing that he might no longer be with us. I lost track of him several years back when we both changed email addresses and we unfortunately got separated. The last of my ASSRA Journals also going back quite a few years now also no longer included his advertising. I had heard of a possible falling out but you know how those rumors go. One of his best works or I should say one I truly enjoyed was the Frogmore Ballard he did for I believe Dale McGee and that spelling is probably not correct.

Another vote for Mark Swanson. He did excellent work at a reasonable cost on one of my Hepburns.

I would also recommend Otto Carter. He also did excellent work on another of my Hepburns at a reasonable cost.

You can see pictures of their work in this thread:

Linecutter has graved 3 Colt saa revolvers for me and does
work for CPA.  I have seen his work on rifles and they are eye catching, I think if you google this it will show work done

Unfortunately Ken has left us. I was very pleased with what he did for me. Tommy Kaye is gone also, as is Ralph Bone. If I need more help I need a recommendation also.
