Hello,

Dont know if anyone here know of Josef Albl?

He is apparently selling his collection of Schützen Rilfes on Egun in Germany.
He has written some books on the subject.

Dont know his connection to the Feuerbixler?

Maybe Biggi can chime in?

The Germans certainly knew how to decorate a rifle. Thanks for posting this.

If you'd like to read it in English, click on this:

You have to copy and paste the whole link.

These rifles are priced much better, over there. 3000 = $3509, here. $1 = 1.17 Euro.

The System Meffert is my favorite of the listed rifles.

By better pricing, I'm looking at it as a seller Smiley

I've always though these rifles have been way under valued, here in the USA.

Some beautiful and beautifully preserved Scheibenbüchsen! Thanks for sharing.

I'm not familiar with Herr Albl, but I was just in Oberammergau about a month ago, so I could have stopped by and seen his collection in person had I only known! Wink

Very nice rifles! I suspect a bunch of them will not sell. I go to Waffenbörse Kassel every year and see a number of nice Feuerstutzen which do not sell, just like here in the US. And they appear to be at the same prices as those here. Main difference is we have many more of them and many more shows.

Some 40 years ago I looked at a buttstock brought back during WW2. As amazing as these pictures look on a computer screen, to actually hold one in your hands and see the detail that must have taken hundreds of hours to carve is beyond belief.

That's a fancy parlor rifle!
I have a nice, but much less ornate Krieghoff parlor rifle in 22BB/CB (i.e. 6mm rf) with the Warnant action and DST. I have thought about putting it up for sale as I am trying to reduce the "accumulation".

Yes, there are some gorgeous examples. While this one is not nearly as nice, I picked it up because the buttplate is engraved "Honor prize to the 15th Infantry Regiment during the 20th year of the Festschützen at the Royal Bavarian Shooting School in 1894".
