Good shooting all.  Dave, keep practicing!  We are ready for you.  I have a new BSA MK II that is shooting well just for the RKS match.

Nice work, but will Homeland Security let you in with your rifles?  Huh

Our scores were not so good so I guess you will be providing us a handicap so it will be a fair competition.
Besides we do not know how to use mirage because we never have light wind days up here.
I think you guys still have home court advantage.

The young Smith Clan (younger grand children) cannot come yet but you can see we have a new generation in training.
Ron`s great grandchildren were also there shooting swingers and gophers.

Since there is no border fence how will Homeland Security know where we are crossing Bob?

With approved ATF temporary import forms I understand we can bring our rifles but  lumber, vegetables and milk have countervail duties.

But Jack does your BSA MKII rifle have a Canadian grade RKS barrel? I also shoot a MKII - RKS Canadian upgrade..

My BSA sports the original British barrel.  Plus it shoots well with $11.00 a box Lapua Center-X.  Don't need that expansive Ely Tenex stuff.  I am going to use the 'Brute" in the ISSA .22 bench matches just to torment Joe.  Too slow for the RKS 50yd match.  That is where the BSA will shine.  I shot a 5 shot 1/2" group on Saturday with the Brute.  I think it is ready!

My offhand practice was shooting gophers with my .40-65 1874 Shiloh Sharps with a Soule sight. That was a hoot.

Much tougher than shooting at chickens, considering their size and you have to estimate the distance.

We have a newbie; Vic, who will need your offhand guidance Joe.
Colleen is kind of secretive, but seems to give us an offhand lesson without any practice.
We have another excellent offhand Schuetzen shooter (Gerard); however he will be going to the BPCR Provincials when the Spokane match is on.

Jack I thought the rules were you were only allowed to use one rifle in a competition and could not switch rifles between relays.

You guys planning on cheating before we even start?

Sorry Jack.
Eley now recognizes the Alberta Schuetzen Guild as International competitors and is selling Tenex or Tenex Biathalon to us now at greatly reduced rates (30% less).
Eley is building an indoor test range at Calgary so we will be able to test different Tenex lots and better fine tune our rifles.

ELY discounts?  Another reason for me to defect to the Canadian team eh!  If I could only speak the language.    The Brute is for the ISSA matches only.  No single rifle rule for ISSA.  In fact under the traditional rifle rules it specifically says no single rifle rule.  ASSRA rules specifically mention their national match as requiring a single rifle but seems to allow more than one unless a match specifically is designated as a single rifle match.  I had better get back to weight lifting to use the Brute offhand.

Looks like a sixteen-pounder to me. Neat, I like it, a lot.
If it's too heavy, you could lighten it up by checkering it. Roll Eyes

I think the rifle is only about 13 lbs.  I got it from Vall after he cleaned it up and did some stock repair. It has a Harlow flat spring arrangement that I did some fiddling with to make it work OK. Short chamber, sloppy head space but shoots really well so I am leaving it alone.

Joe.  Aye get it now. That’s a boot it!

I must have been holding a can of Molson when I guessed the weight of yer gun, Jack. Those big cans always make me lose my ability to discern weight, distance, and speed.
My rifle with a #4 barrel weighs about fifteen, and I thought with a tiny, little hole in your barrel, it'd weigh about a pound more. Aye, that's the tale fer the day.
