ebay and patience may end up being your friend. But, try the 'for sale" section here as well.

Is it possible you're thinking of the '248'? That one may be fairly easy to come by. I'd agree with cf about patients. If I didn't want to wait for it to come to me on decent terms, I'd strongly consider having someone like accurate make up something similar while being able to pick the diameter that I thought I'd want. In any event, good luck with the search.

Are you sure it isn't 375248?

If it's the 375248 they cast a .377 bullet.  I have 3, all cast .377.  I was looking for one that cast a little larger. If you need larger you want #380681.  The  Lee mold for the 38-55 #379-250-RF casts a desant .380 diameter if you don't mind the bevel base. The 375248 makes a great plinking bullet for the 375H&H.,17.5 gr SR4756.
#375449 264gr with gas check works good also it casts .377.

Short version. My C Sharps Hi Wall had an issue and was sent back for fix. Would not group. They recrowned and fired a 4 shot group at 75 yards (indoor range). Hole looks to be around .500". I want that mold.
" great results today using a Lyman 375284 bullet pics attached"
Pat said the bullet weighs 277 grs. and .376" diameter. Groove on the C Sharps is .376". Used 5744.
Surprised that a 277 gr would perform as such in a 1:14 twist. I have been casting the Lyman Postel 335 gr. bullet. Anxious to try it out. Also got an Accurate mold 310DT. Tapered bullet. Bought a breech seating tool. Very anxious.

The 375248 mold is a 255 gr bullet. I e-mailed Donna and asked her to look up the mold #.

Why doesn't 375284 show in in Ideal references?

Bob,
The cherry # 284, is one that is used for the 30 cal, 311284. Although they reused some cherry numbers (very few), they didn't reuse that number.

Lost me.   Cheesy  How do you cut a .375 bullet with a .311 cherry?

Bob,
You don't and can't cut a .377 mold with the 284 cherry.

He has the number wrong. I'm sure and others are too, that he has his mold number wrong. I would guess the the mold that he wants, is the 375248 not 375284. He has reversed the last two numbers.

For starters, Ideal never made a 375284 mold.  They made the 375248 mold and it is a 255gr bullet

(You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)
375248. Standard bullet for .38-55, .38-56, and .38-70 Winchester. For tubular magazine rifles case should be crimped in forward groove. Good for other 38 calibers. (PB, FN, 255 – TP 449)
