Semiauto really helps tame the recoil. Plus downloaded to under 2000 fps.

He says toward the end of the rapid fire video he was using standard Barrett m33 ball ammo.
I think you might have heard him say there was 19 hundreths of a second between shots and thought he said 1900 FPS.
His southern drawl is kind of hard to understand.
Yes semi-autos do smooth out the recoil a bit but a 660gr bullet at 2750 fps still packs a wallop.

I love single shots, but have never had more fun than firing an M2 Browning heavy machine gun while at Fort Ord during advanced infantry training, then later in a mechanized infantry unit, and Uncle Sam paid for the ammo. A good friend, Mark Allison, built a single shot 50 on a Mauser anti tank rifle action, but not as much fun as the M2, especially at $3 + per round 1970s dollars.

That's easy. I did that once and really confused the crap out of a batch of fellow Shooter's. Until that is that someone set up a
Spotting Scope and caught me aiming at the ground just in front of the Balloons. The Rocks and crap blown up would bust them every time. I once made a brag that I could call the value of my shots at 200 Yds to within a point Offhand. Was challenged and the guy wanted to make it a bet so I agreed to a buck a shot. Stepped up to the line and after over holding forever finally fired. And then I calmly turned and said that was MISS.
You can have some fun in this game you know. FITZ. OLD TUCK.  Grin

Ahhhh yes!   M2 (50cal) and M109 (155mm SP) the two most fun guns I've shot!

Had a friend with a 50-110. Innocent bystanders that fired it always fired it twice ... because they couldn't believe it hurt so much the first time.

As an impulsive teenager I fired both barrels of the 12 ga .... prone.
Never did that again.
