John Boy results were positive similar to what ledball has stated and I might Charlie Dell had an article published in the ASSRA Journal and his results were quite remarkable. It also includes some of his correspondence with Accurate powders and their safety take on it. Out of the 32lbs. of the 300MP that I sifted I ended up with just two grades. If memory serves me right I only had about a tablespoon in the bottom of the pan and maybe a 1/2 cup on the top screen or vise versa and it went on the lawn. The two grades were somewhat equal in quantity one just being a bit more than the other one coming off the #45 screen and the other off the #50.

Did one out perform the other?

Bob Z no they both shot good and I couldn't tell if one was abit better than the other. All the sifting really does is palce the size of the Ball Powder spheres into the same category so you end up as close as one can get to achieving the same burn rate. Accurate Powders complaint was as I recall they mixed the small with the large to control the pressure. But to me it was really unfounded as they will somewhat self separate from normal handling, vibrations from transportation etc. with the heavier migrating to the bottom of the jugs. Because of liability so they had to just clearly state in their response that they did not recommend doing it. As I recall Charlie had two targets in the article one before sifting and the other after sifting it being the smaller by far and possibly 2/3 smaller as I recall so someone please correct me if they have the article as I just moved and my collection is currently not available. It was also published several years back so its based on what I currently recall and is what prompted me to try sifting.

Might also add that one of the advantages to the AA4100 if it works for you the spheres are so close to being the same I am not sure if one can even try to sift it. Maybe thats why it seems to work so well it having a more consistent burn rate than some of the others?

Bob Z understand your concern and at no time did I experience anything odd out of the 38lbs. I shot in the way of presure spikes or other related strange presure issues or behavior. The only down side to me is it is allot of work, tedious and very time consuming. One might tend to think you just fill up the top screen shake the stack a little, place the now seperated sizes in their proper container and your done. Realisticly it's about a cup at time, shack like crazy and then some more, place the sizes in their proper container. And then very carefully clean out all of those that are now plugging up the holes in the screens with a soft brush without damaging the screens themselves so you can now do another cup full.
