I picked up this BSA Martini Cadet that was re chambered from 22 LR to .22 Mag.  It has a 10x Fecker scope.

I think I may have to skip out of work early one day this week and try out my two new rinfires.

You mentioned you were looking at a Martini, but didn't know you got one. Looks like a great gun!

She asked if I bought anything and I said I bought an old heavy barrels .22.  I told her that I had sold a couple of guns and hoped to buy another.  She has never asked the key question “how much did it cost” Smiley

That line works well.  I always say I'm just replacing something I'm going to sell.  No pricing or dates requested  Cheesy

The barrel is beat up a bit and the receiver could use some tlc, but I think it adds to the overall appeal.
Got a barrel serial number too.  Not sure if there are any records of the barrel.

Jack,
Nice looking rifles!  I'd say that Pope looks just fine and I am jealous!  Let us know how they shoot.
Vagueness has always worked for me  Cool but I've learned she can be vague sometimes with her purchases so that works...

Jack, Is the Pope barrel number lower than 1200?

Bob,

looks to be 1778.  I see according to "The Story of pope's Barrels" mine is a post 1200 number so is a maybe or maybe not made by Harry!

Ok, Harry had help after about 1200.  Let us know how it shoots.   Did you go to work today?

Yep went to work.  Not .22 testing weather anyway.  When is it going to be mid 60s, overcast with no wind?  Not before the match I wager!

Wow, Jack. Did you find that Pope locally?

Looks like it could use a heavy draw filing and a TJ liner Wink
