The center fire any sight bench scores are reflective of some real harsh conditions what were the conditions like?

John...the weather was sunny, but cool and blustery with switching winds. It was a fun match, I got to shoot with my Arizona friends and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I need to thank; Byron Goff and Randy Wright for putting on the match, as well as Pat Weber and Donn Hanks for scoring! Cool

The wind was Ben Avery range rough; shoot-able but quick switching and unstable. Gusts to 20mph+. Morning relays were tolerable but, after that, all bets were off.  There was enough gusty wind to physically push you around shooting offhand.  Scope bench relay was early afternoon; it was all about shooting 24's, if you could.  Mr. Hanks, preeminent wind and bench shooter that he is, shot a 241 for the high score during the relay.  I was impressed with that because for the conditions, that was damn good.

Scott:

I see many BSA Internationals for the .22 matches. For offhand, what is used for palm rest or do most shoot off their fingertips?

I was able to attend the Quarter Bore shoot as a visitor. I watched a good bunch of guys shooting some pretty good scores in what I would call very windy conditions. It was a fun time and even worth driving through Phoenix to get there!
