Well, good luck with that. They stopped making it 30 years ago.

Maybe a good project for Jamison or Starline.

Well they quit making Ballard's long before the 30 Americans and there are still plenty around so just start looking and they will eventually show up if one looks hard enough.

Anyone still making those press-in primer pocket adapter rings that allowed you to convert large pockets to use small primers?

There are probably fewer of those than there are Ballards! But, I have at least 100. I just gotta figure out how to get them out of those 22 CHeetah cases that I have Wink

I have heard of turning them out of range pick-up 38 SPL cases, but have no idea of how to do it.

Bob,
It's way to much work for me to make them to sell and I have always hated production work. You need something like a screw machine to make any money at it. Hell, I'd go nuts just deburring them!

I don't need any small primer cases, I bought quite a few 30 Americans in 1987 and the only other case I use is the 357 Max.

The ones that I have are made of steel. The Chinese could make them for 1/2 cent, I think.

Small primer cases with the sleeves for large caliber black powder reloads really shine to reduce the brisance of the powder on deflaguration

Back the turn of the century, there were primers for black powder rounds which reduced the brisance of the powder on deflaguration.

In deflagration, decomposition of the explosive material is propagated by a flame front which moves slowly through the explosive material at speeds less than the speed of sound within the substance (usually below 1000 m/s)  in contrast to detonation, which occurs at speeds greater than the speed of sound. Deflagration is a characteristic of low explosive material ... which black powder is
