Huge closeout sale at Nosler on these two calibers. I use the longer 9.3x74R for several Ballard calibers like the .40-85 Everlasting or .40-63 Everlasting.
It's on sale for $14.95 per box of 25!! Regular $70. I just ordered a huge supply.

Yes, it's even half of Hornady's reasonable price! I share the caliber in 3-4 Ballards as donor brass, so ordered another 200 pcs. to keep for future needs! It's perfect for my .40-85 Everlasting calibers!

Got my order of 8 boxes of Nosler brass yesterday. Very nice brass, and after examining and measuring various parts of the brass, it's very consistent in quality. My 8 boxes cost a modest $13 shipping, so they're very economical with their shipping & handling charges! That's unusual these days!

Hey Vall, I got my 9.3x74Rs also. Didn't need them but for that price they can sit in the cabinet in case I do. I haven't unwrapped a box and won't for now but how do they package them that they come in that big a box for just 25 cases?

They're just loose packed in a sealed clear plastic pouch. That's why the box has to be so large. So opening the clear wrap on the box wont allow air to the cases.

My brass and dies showed up early this week.
My thoughts are on building a #5 Remington rolling block receiver into a 9.3x74r using a Green Mountain 32-40 barrel and sending it to Jes for reboring to 9.3.
I was thinking 32" or 34"  for barrel lingth.
Vall mentioned pressure and factory ammo being to high so I looked at pressure rating of the 9.3x74r and it's rated at 49,000 CIP compared to 57,000 CIP  for the 7x57 (piezo) that the #5 is chambered for. Or am I biting off more than I should chew.
Opinions?

I personally wouldn't chamber any Rolling Block (smokeless or BP actions) for a cartridge I'd load at pressures over 30,000 CIP. Sure there were Rolling Blocks chambered in  7x57, and tons of cases showing most shot loose over time. Some other smokeless chamberings also, but I still wont do it.

Well, my brass arrived, I've found some good cast bullets to try, and I've got my BP, dies, and a shell holder.  The only problem?  The lock on my Cannon safe is jammed and I can't get my Ballard Pacific out of it to shoot these neat bullets! GGRRRRRRR!  Cry

No, it was time to reexamine the combination and get it right this time.  Getting old is not for sissies nor yet for the weak of spirit!  A sense of humor and the ability to laugh at oneself helps too!  Roll Eyes
