Buffalo, N.Y. Shooter w Stevens Rifle ...

I picked up this cabinet card recently.  The back is stamped, " Val Liechner, 725 Michigan St., Buffalo, N.Y."

There is too much glare on the medals to identify the shooter ... but still a cool photo.

Great photo!  I'm going to stick my neck out and guess based on the double-set triggers and the apparent color case pattern that he's the proud owner of an early Model 45 or possibly a 108.  Also, does the barrel have an unusually sharp taper?

A 45 would have a small Swiss buttplate, so it's a 44 with special-order DST.  Doesn't have the sharp angle in the receiver of a 108.  But the brl. does seem to have rather a rapid taper.

My guess because of the rapid taper is that it's an English model.

Looks much like a 44 I once owned, save possibly for the maybe more tapered barrel.
