	I posted in another thread a few pictures of my Low Wall 1885 Win. with a #5 weight Stevens-Pope .22 barrel. (You need to *Login* or *Register* to view media files and links) (You need to *Login* or *Register* to view media files and links) In the last few weeks I've been trying to figure out if this was a special order barrel for Stevens on their rifles, or if it was just one of the options they cataloged? I have a half dozen old Stevens catalogs, and looking at the Stevens-Pope Barrels section I see Stevens barrels offered in#1-2-3-4-5 weight. But I don't see any listing for a .22 RF caliber Stevens Pope barrel. Pretty sure I've seen guns in .22RF with Stevens-Pope barrels, but not positive. Wondering if those knowledgeable in Stevens single shots, or Stevens-Pope rifles, might have some input on how common or rare a .22RF Stevens-Pope is. And also if anyone has seen the Stevens-Pope .22RF barrels in this #5 weight my 1885 has? The catalog shows a #5 weight at 28" to be 9.5 lbs., but no mention of caliber? I'd guess this .22 #5 weight barrel is a bit heavier by a pound or so. The catalog also lists Stevens actions with wood at 3.5 lbs. so that would be a 13 lb. rifle for a CF caliber. I've only seen one #5 weight Stevens rifle, and it was a schuetzen model with a .33-40 Pope barrel.

	Val, I remember seeing a Stevens-Pope 22 RF at the WAC show in Puyallup about 1986 to 1988. I believe it was on a HiWall, but may have been a LoWall. It was definitely a schuetzen configuration, but I'm not sure what weight it was.

	J. Stevens barreled lots of rifles, and they recut many barrels too. I've seen one rifle that had a very heavy Stevens barrel in 32-40, larger than the one on your rifle. I think they'd make you anything you were willing to pay for $$$.

I think that's why this one was extremely cheap. I was attracted to it because the condition was minty, with 98% barrel blue, perfect wood finish, and gorgeous case colors. Then the saw it was in .25 Stevens RF. But it was impossible to pass up, and I have a half dozen boxes of .25RF Cannuck ammo, so it does get occasionally fired. Been toying with the idea of buying some .25RF Ramshot charges, and making up a breech seater to be able to shoot it even more.

	Val I went thru my 1885 parts. I only have one of the rimfire pins. I have about 8 of center fire pins but I have close to that in actions that I have apart. if you cant find one I would lit you have the one I have Ken
