	Hello! New to the forum but not the hobby. I was able to purchase a rifle from a good friend this weekend, I have been trying to talk him out of it for years. It is a Stevens 44-1/2 with a heavy Douglas barrel in 32-40, also include is the original rimfire breech block, .22 barrel and a new heavy Douglas barrel in .22. It wears a 12X Unertl, also came with a Charlie Dell luber and Re-Decapper. I have shot against this rifle in matches years ago and fired it myself.

	Looks very nice, and having the RF and CF barrels and breech block is even better!

	I can't make it happen this weekend but I will make one soon. I need to get this out to the range and see what I can do with it. 	Hello Gentlemen I will soon have a 44-1/2 to restore, really a rebuild as it will need a new barrel. and I'm looking for ideas. My tastes lie in plain and simple work well executed. May I ask if the rifle pictured might be considered as "a typical example" as it looks very nice to my eye. Thanks

	Other than the heavy barrel the rifle is original as far as I know. Thanks Stevens rifles typically came standard as half octagon barrels. Full octagon is unusual, and full round would be very rare. They also came with case colored receivers, so a restoration should include proper Stevens case colors.
