Belding and Mull charge tubes

i found a cheap and excellent way to make up new tubes by buying/finding the standard brass adjustable muzzle loader measure, the ones with the small swivel funnel on the end. they are 1/2" (.500) diameter. cut the funnel off and deburr. they come already graduated for reference and are long enough to easily to hold 100 grains of black powder. they work perfect.

Good plan! Track of the Wolf sells them without the funnel too! $12.

FWIW if anyone need them, I have some 4" or 5" lengths of THICK wall (~0.048" from memory) brass tubing, 1/2" diameter. I'll sell for $4 or $5 each, plus postage.

I made my own B-M powdah tubes years ago. Took a large nut, reamed ID to fit brass tube, nut wall was thick enough to thread for lock screw. Used solid brass rod for the adjustable measure; might have some of that stock left too. Small flat milled down solid adjust rod retained it in the tubing.

I will post pictures and start a new post ...

All of my single shots shoot one tiny ragged hole with cast bullets ... it's just the following shots that tend to open up my groups Wink ...
