What is "this"?

Later period 1894 Favorite, has the screwed-down hammer spring.   Not a lotta choices what to do with it, assuming you can scare up a barrel and the missing internals from Gunbroker or evilBay.  .22 Long Rifle by far the easiest to do, of course.  Three digit number is meaningless - they stopped sequential numbering long before that one was made.  They got a letter + 3 or 4 digits, perhaps as a lot number.  Only early ones with the 7 o'clock extractor have a real serial number.

Don't get too involved with it. You're time and money are best spent elsewhere.
Put it in a drawer and maybe someday some parts will show up.
It's like wire coat hangers, put two in a dark closet and next time you look, they'll be a dozen.

Here is another one that I started and will hopefully finish someday.  It was a really rough 25 cal that I bought sight unseen for $50, used it to try some more casehardening and now I think it needs to become something nice. The weak Canadian dollar kills me and pretty much doubles the price of the stock blank by the time you pay the xtra shipping, taxes and exchange.

Mr Davis, if you had chambered a Stevens Favorite in 22 Hornet in your younger days and fired it, you would not have seen your older days. The Hornet has blown up Krags. I read a piece about the Favorite and it said some of the older ones are not strong enough for modern .22 Long Rifle cartridge.
