Why a small flash hole? I know its one of those things that everyone told you was good. Did you ever actually compare it against a regular .060" flashhole? I'd be willing to bet that you can't tell the difference.

Over the last year I have bought a Ruger No. 1 in 6mm ppc and a Sako Single shot in 22 ppc and never having loaded for the ppc case before I was surprised to find the flash holes are around .062 in these cases where as the standard flash hole size is around .081
Although for my standard of shooting I don't suppose it makes that much difference if I enlarged the flash holes of the Sako cases I am using out to the standard size.
It would appear that the experts in bench rest shooting think the smaller flash hole does make a difference and it will be so much easier cleaning up the flash holes with the right size hand tool.
I have enlarged the flash hole of fifty cases of the 22ppc to do as you suggested with the Sako rifle just to see if a difference shows in a non bench rest rifle.
I was pleasantly surprised that the Ruger No 1 shot into one inch first time out with ADI Bench Mark 1 powder and a 70 grain bullet even with a big bullet jump to the lands.
