New Project, any guesses?

Generally one buys or has an action and they fit a barrel to it, not the case here... I'll be lucky to have this shooting within a year if I stop all my other gun related projects.  Here's a picture, anyone care to guess before I spill the beans?

You - are spot on!
I got a little giddy when I found it, many couldn't care less...  at the Denver show.  The work Harry did intrigues me - has for a while.
I read a few books and articles about Milton Farrow his actions have my attention, bought the prints for it, bought material, couldn't decide where to begin and what make of it.
Here's a couple more photo's that solve that dilemma.
For those unfamiliar, #88 was on a Farrow action, last known to be rifled and chambered for a 33-47, she matches.  Cool

Sooo, in my opening statement, many buy and fit a barrel to an action, in this case - I bought a barrel and I'm going to build and fit an action to it.

Nicely done!  I can't help but pick up a loose action when I see one at a gun show or shop.  ... same with barrels.  Very nice find!  Is the false-muzzle still with it?

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

No, and if it was a false muzzle Pope barrel, it wasn't at Denver. I saw the barrel and almost bought it, but the small shank meant it would need an adapter bushing to use on another gun, or shorten it further.
Glad you got it GT, as you have the talent to make whatever is needed to put it on any single shot rifle. Might be interesting to see the barrel number and look it up in the Hartford Pope book to find out how it started life, and on what gun?
