tipping bullets

I never worry too much about bullets tipping a little.   Shooting 32 cal bullets, 200 gr, at 200 yd the other day, I noticed that most tipped a noticeable amount --  but amazing thing was that they all seemed to be tipping in about the same direction!!   All the bullet holes were elongated in the direction of between 3 and 5 o'clock.   Anybody else noticed something like this?   Any hypothesis of a cause of this phenomenon?
There doesn't seem to be any tipping at 100 yd.    Maybe soon, I'll shoot some of them at 300 yd, to see if the tipping increases.

Mine tip randomly.  Shoot just fine at 300 yards.

When I won the King Target at Springfield one year, Roland Groppe complained that not only was a my shot closer, but the bullet even tipped towards the center Cheesy  I decided right then and there to just let them tip  Grin  They were getting 249s and 250s so why change?  Don't get no better than that.  Even won the 5 shot group when I forgot and shot 10 shots  Roll Eyes  tipping is the way to go.

Mine tip too. My gryroscopic stability is 1.87.

Caliber      0.321      Inches
Bullet Weight      235.1      Grains
Bullet Length      1.299      Inches
Barrel Twist      11.5      Inches/turn
muzzle velocity      1470      fps
Temperature      50      degrees Fahrenheit (59 is standard)
Pressure      29.92      inches of mercury (29.92 is standard)

Sg =      1.87

Unfortunately sometimes the scorers think the tipped bullet strike is two bullet hits.

Marlinguy:      Joe is not rounded , he is more pointy.

Joe is the MASTER at yanking chains!  (I say that in admiration.)  I take his comment as one of expressing jealousy!

He and a couple of others here is why I dropped out of the ASSRA. I just simply refuse to Pay for such rude behavior that continues to go unchecked by the Moderators. I'am not even sure why the forum rules even exist as once a fellow agrees to them to get on the site they are free to do as they please. I remember when JD Steel got booted off for allot less and about eleven more followed him and we lost all of their vast knowledge they so freely shared. Now it seems rude, demeaning and meaningless posts are more welcome and have since replaced it.

I think that IF anybody does not like coming onto a free forum, they should go away and start their own website/forum.

Well there are those who have left along with their vast knowledge so I guess thats a really good thing to help promote the ASSRA Asociation instead of just enforcing the forum rules it took the time to write.

I sometimes think the tipping we see is the target frames moving with the wind and possible catching edges of holes in backers. JMO

"Well there are those who have left along with their vast knowledge"

Fortunately we have those who remain and can fill in with their half-vast knowledge.

That is probably a possibility for some.  Mine arr deginitely tipping.

BTW, at first the scorer at Springfild wasn't going to let my 10 shot target win the 5 shot group when match.  They finally decided too many was ok  Roll Eyes
