Seller has it listed as a Model 45, but the features and the serial number (2601) clearly make it a Model 108 (or maybe a 109?). Does not have the lugged hammer. Has a tang sight I have not seen before. The staff spring is on TOP of the base, rather than underneath. Lots of detail photos. No reserve. I must force myself to abstain. My safe is already overflowing. Comments?

	That's a great looking Stevens, for it's age. I wonder what a "great bore" means. It must not have been shot much so, maybe it is in "great" condition. They sure took a lot of pictures (106) but, none of the front of the action, with the forearm off so, you could see if it actually IS a 45. It could very well be a 45 though, with the butt plate and sights. It looks like the breech block, makes contact with the action. Maybe they made sure of that with the 108 type, before having to add the lugged hammer. It would make a great 22RF though! Frank

	Good looking rifle. To my thinking I would say it is a 107 with a very late serial number. Model 107 plain wood and mid. Barrel sight Model 108 deluxe wood and mid barrel sight Model 109 plain wood and no mid barrel sight Model 110 deluxe wood and no mid barrel sight Det

	Isn't there a pin, or something, completely through the receiver between the hammer screw and the trigger screw? Or is it just pitting on both sides of the rcvr?

	I think it's just a pit or ding in the finish. The block and lever pins look too stout for a 108. It looks more like a very early 45 to me, with the right-angle frame, the screw-in lever and block pins and the 7:00 extractor. The 107 I have has rather spindly block and lever pins, the blotchy, rather than ripply, casehardening colors and a skinnier barrel than the later 44 models. A look at any metal protected by wood would be very instructive. I'd definitely ask for a look at the front of the receiver before bidding.

Used to dislike the right-angle frame models; now I like them a lot, for no reason I can explain! (But not enough to bid on this one.)

	Bent Ramrod both the large and small screws where used on 107, 108, 109,110 and early 44 actions. It was more of a caliber thing then a action thing. The small caliber rifles used the small screws and larger caliber us large. I have 2 model 109's. On 38 XL Ballard and one 25-20 swift both small screw and have seen a 32-40 with a large screw. I also have a pair of early 44's one in 25-25 with small screw and a 32-40 with a large screw that is within 350 of the serial number of the 25-25. Det What caliber is your 107 small screw?

I've identified three sizes of pivot screw. My .22-20 s/n 2023 is .226, then there's my s/n 2459 in .32 Ideal which is .258, and then circa s/n 9000 they all became .288, which is the same size as the two-piece "bolts". But after #2459 I have logged a Model 47 that is .226, however, so it does seem that screw size was chosen according to caliber. I took it for a 108, but the wood is rather plain, so 107 can't be ruled out. My two are not marked in any way to indicate model, so looking at wood and sights are the only way to tell, as far as I know.

	I have two 109's. The early one number 2013 is not marked but 2422 is both caliber and model marked on the bottom flat of the barrel under the forearm. Det

	My 107 is a .32-35 Stevens. Serial number in the 20XX range.
